The Car of the Future Is Almost Here

Klein Vision, the Slovak firm founded by Stefan Klein and Anton Zajac, is on the verge of making history. Its AirCar — the world’s first certified flying car — is set to reach the market in the first quarter of 2026, following the completion of flight testing on its second prototype this autumn.

The company recently received the Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Engineering at the Living Legends of Aviation gala in Beverly Hills — an honor presented by Morgan Freeman and John Travolta. The recognition marks a defining moment for a project that, until recently, seemed the exclusive province of science fiction.

Since its inception in 1989, the AirCar has evolved through five generations, accumulating more than 170 hours of flight time. The new model will be lighter, owing to advanced composite materials, and will feature an Adept aircraft engine, Garmin avionics, and an autopilot system. With an aerial range of 1,000 kilometers and a road range of 800, the AirCar is targeting EASA airworthiness certification — opening the path to commercial launch in Europe, with expansion into Asia and North America to follow.

Priced between $800,000 and $1 million, the AirCar is conceived for those who demand personal mobility unconstrained by airport infrastructure. “We are merging the road and the sky into an entirely new dimension of mobility,” said Stefan Klein.

In a market that is rapidly filling with competition — among them the Pal-V Liberty and the Alef Model A — Klein Vision has established itself as one of the first companies to reach genuine commercial viability. The future of personal mobility is no longer a dream. It is cleared for landing.
