Since 1995, Mi Gran Esperanza has been bringing hope to children and young people with cancer from low-income families. Founded by Sra. Bertha Padilla de Pérez, the organization has supported more than 6,000 young patients and their families through its various programs.

Through the resources they provide, Mi Gran Esperanza has contributed to the physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery of children and young people living with cancer — and of the families who stand beside them — offering greater hope and a better quality of life, rooted in love.

Cancer in Mexico: Key Figures

Between 5,000 and 6,000 cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed in Mexico each year.

Childhood cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death in children.

When detected early and treated with a complete protocol, an average of 77% of patients can be saved.

Volunteering and Community Service

Mi Gran Esperanza works to raise awareness about the early signs and symptoms of childhood cancer, reduce time to diagnosis, and ensure access to timely treatment. The organization distributes informational materials, identifies suspected cases and refers them to specialized centers, trains frontline healthcare personnel, and fosters interinstitutional collaboration.

A timely diagnosis increases the rate of recovery while reducing toxicity and long-term complications.
