The Unknown Joys of Checo Pérez

In an exclusive interview with Elite Business, Sergio “Checo” Pérez reveals a different side of himself: simplicity as luxury. Asked where he finds true happiness away from the track, his answer was immediate: Puerto Vallarta.
“I think walking through Puerto Vallarta in sandals, shorts, and a T-shirt is wonderful — and you don’t need much. Being able to go for tostadas and tacos at Chicken in Puerto Vallarta, which are incredible, those marlin burritos, the tuna tostadas, the sailfish tostadas — and they cost next to nothing. You understand? You don’t need that much to live.”

In a sport defined by speed and relentless pressure, the Mexican driver reveals a clear personal philosophy: happiness does not depend on the extraordinary, but on the everyday. Eating in his homeland, walking without hurry, returning to what is essential.
A simple declaration that, coming from a Formula 1 icon, carries unexpected weight: greatness also lies in knowing how to value the small things.
