Handbags Auctioned for the Benefit of Rescued Dogs

Fashion for Furkids returned for its third year in Atlanta. The charity gala hosted by local shelter Furkids Animal Rescue auctioned handbags by Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Jimmy Choo, and Tory Burch to fund the operations of Georgia’s largest no-kill shelter.

The venue was Shiloh Gardens, set on the shelter’s nine-acre property in Cumming. Catering was provided by Affairs to Remember, the regional house that counts Martha Stewart among its collaborators, with handbag-shaped desserts by Sophia Megazzini. The evening was hosted by Nancy Flaherty, fashion journalist and co-founder of the Couture Council of Georgia, and chaired by Samantha Shelton, the shelter’s founder.

Furkids has rescued more than eighty thousand animals and operates as the state’s largest no-kill sanctuary. Every designer bag sold finances a kennel, a veterinarian, and a second chance.
