Mexico’s National Tequila Day

Tequila is entering a new chapter in its history. This July 24 marks the first time the National and International Day of Tequila will be celebrated on a single, unified date — a deliberate move to amplify the global reach of Mexico’s most emblematic spirit.

The calendar unification reflects a broader strategy to strengthen tequila’s international recognition under a single, coherent message. According to the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT), the objective is to consolidate promotion of a product whose authenticity is underpinned by a rigorous certification system and a denomination of origin that now extends to municipalities in Michoacán, Nayarit, Tamaulipas, and Guanajuato.

The industry’s significance extends far beyond the cultural. Present in 120 countries and with production reaching 583.5 million liters by the close of 2025, tequila remains one of Mexico’s most eloquent ambassadors to the world.

The commemoration will be hosted at Tequila LAB in Zapopan, where specialists, producers, and authorities will convene for conferences, panel discussions, and a festival celebrating gastronomy, mariachi, and agave culture.
