Where Fashion Meets Sport: Coach and the WNBA

A Defining Partnership: Coach Becomes an Official Sponsor of the WNBA

The New York House of Coach has become the official sponsor of the WNBA, uniting fashion and sport in a sweeping celebration of self-expression.

The alliance between Coach and the WNBA marks a significant milestone at the intersection of sport and style. In a bold expression of its signature identity, Coach will bring its distinctive aesthetic to basketball arenas across the United States, standing alongside players and fans alike. One of the first moments of this collaboration unfolded at the 2025 WNBA Draft, held April 14 at The Shed in New York City. At this marquee event, the orange carpet — presented by Coach — welcomed a new generation of gifted players ready to make their mark on the league.

That Monday evening was more than a night of selections; it was a space where sport and personal style converged on equal terms. Coach will also embark on a unique collaboration with five standout draft prospects, including Paige Bueckers of the University of Connecticut and Hailey Van Lith of Texas Christian University. These young athletes are stars on the court — and each carries a story that speaks to the connection between athletic excellence and the courage to be authentically oneself.

Empowerment and Diversity: A Platform for Self-Expression

Joon Silverstein, Chief Marketing Officer of Coach, underscored the significance of the partnership: “Coach and the WNBA share the conviction that self-expression has power. We are thrilled to collaborate with a league that celebrates individuality and champions these remarkable athletes.” That conviction speaks directly to Coach’s commitment to walking alongside players as they challenge stereotypes with confidence and invite their communities to find their own voice.

Coach will also serve as the presenting sponsor of WNBA Pride, the platform that has honored the LGBTQ+ community since 2014. This edition will feature a series of nationally televised games alongside a new installment of the Pride Is Love series. Inclusion and the celebration of diversity are values Coach will embrace with conviction, reaffirming its commitment to acceptance in every form.

What Coach and the WNBA are launching together is not simply about basketball or fashion — it is about empowering people to embrace “the courage to be real,” exploring and celebrating every facet of their identity. With landmark events such as the AT&T WNBA All-Star 2025 on the horizon, this collaboration is shaping up to be a genuine cultural phenomenon — one that will transform the court and inspire thousands to express themselves without apology.
