The Competition Car Born in Mexico

The M2 Racing from BMW M Motorsport marks a milestone in motorsport: beginning in 2026, it will be manufactured in Mexico, carrying the “Made in Mexico” designation to circuits around the world. The car not only broadens access to competition but does so without compromising the high-performance DNA that defines BMW.
Producing 230 kW / 313 hp and reaching a top speed of 270 km/h, this two-seat contender fuses the production M2 platform with sophisticated competition components developed by BMW M Motorsport engineers. Engineered for both sprint and endurance formats — including the Nürburgring 24 Hours — it delivers durability and operational efficiency without sacrificing a moment of excitement.

With a base price of €98,000 in Europe, the M2 Racing presents a compelling proposition for novice and seasoned competitors alike. Björn Lellmann, Director of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport, has noted that the program is built around a deliberate balance between driving pleasure and accessible costs.
The car has been refined through direct feedback from factory drivers, ensuring every detail meets the exacting standards of competition. “It is an ideal car for those just starting out and for serious competitors alike,” adds driver Jens Klingmann.
Production in San Luis Potosí speaks to BMW’s sustained commitment to the region while positioning Mexico as a key hub in the global luxury automotive industry. With the BMW M2 Racing, the future of motorsport looks bright — welcoming a new generation of drivers to the pure exhilaration of an exceptional machine.
