Florence Hosts the XV Biennale of Art and Design

Where light and darkness converge in contemporary art.

From October 18 to 26, 2025, Florence will host the XV Biennale of Art and Design under the theme “The Sublime Essence of Light and Darkness.” The event will bring together more than 600 exhibitors from 84 countries, presenting 1,500 works across 11,000 square meters.

The exhibition will feature sculptures, multimedia installations, and pieces that engage themes of memory, identity, and technology — affirming the Biennale’s standing as a preeminent international forum for artistic and cultural dialogue.

This edition will see the International Leonardo da Vinci Lifetime Achievement Award in Design conferred upon architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, while the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” honor will be awarded to filmmaker Tim Burton.

The Biennale has secured its place as an essential appointment for collectors, critics, and all those drawn to the most vital contemporary expressions of art and design.
